The Board of Directors at the GPSSA holds its 4th meeting for the year 2022 under the leadership of His Excellency Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini

Abu Dhabi, 8 September 2022:  His Excellency Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) headed GPSSA’s 4th board meeting yesterday - Wednesday, 7th September 2022), by starting with a welcome speech addressed to the council members.


The board shortly proceeded in discussing the agenda, which included approving the minutes of meeting from the previous meeting, while reviewing the follow-up schedule in order to implement decisions and recommendations. It also endorsed the decisions taken by the Higher Committee for Human Resources and Remuneration at its 5th and 6th meetings of 2022.


The Board then reviewed the report prepared by GPSSA’s Director General on efforts exerted by the three main sectors in the Authority, which included the investment sector, the pension sector, the support services sector and the digital technology sector. It also approved the financial statements for the 1st quarter, and discussed other topics on its agenda and took appropriate decisions in this regard.

It is worth noting that the authority’s statistics for the month of August 2022 indicate an increase in the number of employers registered with the GPSSA to 7,534 compared to 7,060 employers in August 2021, while the number of contributors increased to 88,370 compared to 85,984 contributors for the same period last year.



Statistics also indicate an increase in the number of pensioners to 26,996 retirees, compared to 25,094 retirees in August 2021, and the number of those entitled increased to 18,626 eligible beneficiaries compared to 17,530 for the same period last year. On the level of insurance expenditures with the GPSSA for insured individuals, pensioners and beneficiaries, the value amounted to Dh 455,467,005 in August 2022, compared to about Dh 347,004,531
