GPSSA’s statistics reflect the UAE governments mission to empower Emirati women, said His Excellency Faras Al Ramahi

Abu Dhabi, 27th August 2025 – Statistics issued by the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) reflect the UAE leaderships ambitious quest to empower Emirati women, with female contributors compensating 68.2 % compared to 31.8% Emirati males, stated His Excellency Faras Abdul Karim Al Ramahi, Director General.
In celebration of Emirati Women’s Day, Al Ramahi said: “This day, each year, serves as an opportunity to celebrate and honor the remarkable journey and achievements led by Emirati women across all sectors. It is also a moment to reflect on the UAE leadership's comprehensive development vision to ensure women are a central pillar for building an inclusive and sustainable future.”
She added that the celebration of Emirati Women’s Day – held under the theme “Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years” – is a tribute to the inspiring journey of Emirati women, whose determination and perseverance have played a pivotal role in the nation’s comprehensive renaissance.
He added: “This year’s theme, ‘Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years’ organized under the guidance of Her Excellency Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) on the 50th anniversary of the General Women’s Union, embodies the values of unity, partnership and the outstanding contributions made by Emirati women to drive the nation’s development journey forward. The theme also draws inspiration from “Hand in Hand,” declared earlier this year by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, as the banner for the “Year of Community.” Together, these national milestones highlight the UAE’s vision to strengthen social cohesion and reaffirm the significant role of women as equivalent partners in driving development across every sector.”
GPSSA’s statistics further illustrate this role, indicating that out of a total of 113,495 female contributors, the private sector accounts for the majority with 70,752 women, followed by the federal government sector with 23,997 and the local government sector with 18,746. By contrast, the number of male contributors stands at 52,916. These figures underscore the tangible impact of the UAE’s government support and initiatives aimed at increasing Emirati female participation in the private sector.
“Emirati women will always remain the cornerstone of the UAE’s progress and global standing, from nurturing and guiding future generations, to leading the fields of sustainability and innovation on the path towards ambitious goals set forth in the UAE Centennial Plan 2071,” concluded GPSSA’s Director General.
