To Commemorate the Bestowal of Sheikh Zayed: GPSSA launches “O seeker of the good; come near!” Initiative

Dubai June 07, 2018: On the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Day corresponding to the 19th of Ramadan each year, the General Pension and Social Security Authority recently launched “O seeker of the good; come near!” Initiative in which the Authority staff contributed to provide Iftar for 500 fasting people in cooperation with Dar Al Bar Association, which in turn supervised on the processing and distribution of meals to fasting people at Ibrahim Khalil Mosque in Bur Dubai.

Hanan Al-Sahlawi, Director of the Government Liaison Office in the General Pension and Social Security Authority, said that the initiative comes within the framework of the Authority’s activities to commemorate Zayed Humanitarian Day, during which the bestowal of Zayed is celebrated at the local and international levels. She further added that in this day we remember how Sheikh Zayed worked to build a modern, successful and promising state, which has all the human and cultural components that enrich our world and spread the principles of brotherhood, peace, building, stability, development and prosperity among peoples.

She added that Zayed believed that the good deeds of the UAE are for the whole world, and therefore did not spare any effort to spread those good deeds all over the world to reach all those in need. The UAE was in his time and is now thanks to its wise leadership a support to the state in crises and adversities as well as became one of the most important donors for humanitarian assistance worldwide for consecutive years.

She said that building a modern and sophisticated state was like a dream for some, but Zayed knew and trusted his ability to turn this dream into reality. Person looking deeply into his words sees that his thought was more than just building a developed state. He wanted to develop the human through investing in him/her so that the citizens are able and qualified in the future to lead and develop this march in a way that puts the UAE in the right path in the path of civilization and contribution to its establishment.

She further added that this good thinking and those values that he adopted their dissemination were aimed at achieving happiness for his people, and this should be a motivation for us to change the lives of others to the better, albeit through simple support we offer to persons in need. Small things are sometimes maximized to build high hopes.
