GPSSA highlights the UAE governments pillars for positive citizenship as it concludes its ‘Get Ready - Proactive Financial Planning’ campaign
Abu Dhabi, 19th June 2023: Optimism is an acquired mindset that results in taking clearer and more rational decisions regarding the future, a trait that insured individuals are encouraged to practice when planning for their retirement and future, advised the General Pension and Social Security as part of concluding the ‘Get Ready - Proactive Financial Planning’ campaign today.
GPSSA’s proactive financial planning campaign has been launched to encourage Emiratis to get ready for the future, by taking decisive and helpful steps towards a healthy and sustainable retirement, prior, during and after the retirement stage.
A huge part of the campaign focuses on offering helpful and supportive tips that promote a UAE national’s wellbeing; traits that correlate with the UAE governments project “pillars for positive citizenship” which aims to elevate patriotism and pride towards the nation and its heritage through embracing pivotal traits such as embodying the morals and values of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in eternal peace; practicing awareness, knowledge and benevolent communication with others; embarking in cultural integration and acceptance of social diversity, and serving as a role model to benefit and empower society by sharing knowledge and acquired skills with others.
Optimism not only results in thinking about yourself and your family in a rational and constructive manner, it also results in spreading valuable traits to society in general. Thinking in a positive manner requires clearing one’s mind from negativity and focusing on enhancing productivity, taking care of ones physical and mental health in order to reduce risks of developing diseases and/or illnesses in order to be able to work for as long as possible; avoiding depression, stress and anxiety from taking over and above all improving the ability to accept and adapt to circumstances.
With the right type of practical mindset and a proper wellness plan in place, becoming an optimist is a “way of life” and eventually turns into becoming a habit. A person must focus on achievable goals that are within reach, surround themselves with optimistic and bright-minded people, invest in strengths and knowledge, and refrain from overreacting unnecessarily.
When a mind wanders, it is helpful to ask the right questions to oneself. Questions such as “what do I want to accomplish for the future? How do I go about doing that? What are the skills and tools required to achieving my goals? How can I clear my mind from any unnecessary negative thoughts and focus on helpful and optimistic ones?” All valuable self-acquired questions that only the person involved can help answer through the right type of optimism in place.
